Grassroots football is the biggest winner as PlayStation® Schools’ Cup season has thrilling finale

Danny RoseAs the lead agency, HPS Jardine helped cap off this season’s new partnership between PlayStation® and the English Schools’ FA (ESFA) in fine style. The PlayStation Schools’ Cup Festival was a culmination of the secondary schools’ football season, hosting a total of 15 finals across three days in a carnival atmosphere at Reading FC’s Madejski Stadium (19th-21st May).

 

Adding to the excitement, notable football stars of today lent their support as Connor Wickham (Sunderland FC), Jay Rodriguez (Southampton FC), Bobby Zamora (QPR) and Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur) all attended the event to pass on tips to the teams and sign autographs for supporters.

 

The Festival helped attract an increase of 178% extra likes for the project’s Facebook page andPlayStation Schools Cup M-3049 Twitter followers rising by over 50%. The Fleet Street bus arrived to support this grassroots occasion, attracting 4 national newspapers, the Evening Standard, Sky Sports Soccer AM, ITV London, TalkSPORT and a selection of football specialist publications. The supporting radio syndication delivered over 90 news items on air, whilst over 100 regional newspaper stories were generated about these schools’ finals.
