PlayStation® Schools’ Cup shooting for success with Drum Marketing Awards nomination09 Apr 2015, Posted by Events, Football, Gaming in
PlayStation® Schools’ Cup, the grassroots football partnership between PlayStation and the English Schools’ FA, has reason to celebrate after being shortlisted for PR Strategy of the Year at the prestigious Drum Marketing Awards 2015.
As lead agency of the project, HPS Jardine has overseen ten Tie of the Round roadshow events across the country during the 2014/15 season with a Premier League player appearance the highlight for each event. However much like the Premier League, the season isn’t over yet and planning is well underway for the PlayStation Schools’ Cup Festival which will see 15 national schools football finals take place at Reading FC’s state-of-the-art Madejski Stadium from Monday 18th May to Wednesday 20th May.
The award nomination reflects an impressive second season for the project which has seen over 200 pieces of media coverage both regionally and nationally for the partnership at a value of nearly £7 million.
The biggest competition in schools’ football comprises 19 football tournaments across U12 to U15 secondary school age categories. Over 100,000 pupils have experienced the pride of representing their school in these national competitions since they first kicked off in September 2013.
The awards take place on Thursday 7th May and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the PlayStation Schools’ Cup can get its hands on its very own trophy.
